Our labyrinth is situated on the grass, with a wonderful view over pastureland to the Shawangunk cliffs. It’s a beautiful, powerfully energizing area, above a large underground "water-dome" with 7 veins radiating out from its center. It is based on the ancient Cretan form and helps to re-establish a long-lost rapport with nature, earth’s energy and the feminine. We invite you to take time out to journey to the center of the labyrinth at your own pace, in the spirit of a pilgrimage during daylight hours. The path to the center is a metaphor for life. Its many turns enable you to engage in a powerful inner journey in search of the Divine, or of the self. There are no wrong turns in that a labyrinth is not a maze that attempts to confuse you. You will reach the center, though there may be times when you think you are almost there, when you are not or when you feel the path is taking you further away from the center, when it is not! Spend some time in the center with an open receptive heart, release your burdens and fill up with the light, power and healing of all creation. When you are ready, walk back out again along the path, renewed and re-energized. "Labyrinths offer the opportunity to walk in meditation to that place within ourselves where the rational merges with the intuitive, and the spiritual is reborn. We follow the path to the center and return to the world renewed" Labyrinth Project of Connecticut. While generally, Puja will travel to your chosen location for your ceremony, ROOTS & WINGS, with its spectacular view of The Gunks, and especially the labyrinth, is also an ideal setting for a very small - less than 8 person - ceremony or for couples who wish to plan with Puja for a private elopement.
